We all want to have a good time in this rp, but to make sure that happens we have to set down a few rules so we're all on the same page.
Out of Character (OOC) Rules
- Respect is of the utmost importance. Homophobia, Racism, Sexism, Transphobia etc. are NOT acceptable, and if we hear that you are exhibiting any of these behaviours then you will be asked to leave.
- Natural colours and designs please.
- Please be honest with the mods. If you want to leave, say so. If you have a problem with another member, say so. No complaint is too small.
- This is an LGBT+ friendly server! Feel free to have characters of any sexuality or gender.
- Our Main RP generally has a rating of PG - 12. This means that graphic depictions of violence/torture and sexual violence are out. If you wouldn’t see it in something like the Lord of the Rings, you shouldn’t see it in the main chat. This rating can be stretched to 15 with everyone’s consent.
- Tell the mods before you kill off your cat, and do not seriously harm another members character without permission.
- Your character should not be overpowered. Cats cannot defeat large dogs, livestock, or other large wildlife on their own.
- If your character is having kits, it is YOUR responsibility to have RPers for them. You may RP one of them.
- You may have 4 RP characters at a time.
- You may have 1 character at a time up for adoption to other RPers.
- Warrior names are greatly preferred. A few cats with rogue names are permitted (more so in EarthClan) but we will rarely allow more than 3 such cats at a time. Also be mindful of the location - try not use prefixes with plants/animals that don’t exist in Scotland!
- Gatherings are held once every 2 weeks on a Saturday at 11 GMT. Medicine cats do not have regular meetings but it isn’t unheard of for them to arrange further meetings when they see one another at Gatherings.
- Each season lasts for 3 Gatherings(6 weeks). Please note and update your characters age.
- Make sure your character has been approved by Mods before RPing them/putting them up for adoption.
- In hunting patrols please keep in mind that not every hunt will be successful! There should be a maximum of 3 kills per 4 cat hunting patrol, less if there are fewer cats.
- Please remember the location of the cats! Don't have your cat hunt animals that don't live in their their territory!
- If your character is going to be discussing or doing something that could be potentially tiggering (throwing up, suicidal thoughts etc.) PLEASE put a trigger warning at the top of your post! This is just common courtesy.
The Warrior Code
- Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
- Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory.
- Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
- Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
- A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
- Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
- A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
- The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
- After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
- Medicine cats may have mates, but they may not have kits.
- A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
- When the Northern Lights are visible in the sky it is considered a time to reminisce lost cats. Sometimes they are sign, other times just a reminder of the fallen.
- Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
- No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
- The word of the Clan Leader is the warrior code.
- An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
- A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
