Before creating a cat...
- To avoid being asked to delete a character, you should check with the moderators and the leader of the clan you plan to put your cat in what the stats are. This is to avoid having to many toms/she cats, too many apprentices, too many young warriors etc.
- You may also be asked to change characters name if it doesn't fit the clan or if another character has that name.
- You may have one cat per clan.
Aging Guide
Note: A moon lasts 2 weeks in real time, and a season lasts 3 Gathering(6 weeks). A year will therefore be 12 weeks.
- Kits. 0-6 moons. Kits will be weaned off of milk between their 1st and 2nd moon, but will probably still drink milk until their 4th.
- Apprentices. 6-12 moons. No apprentices should be made warriors before their 12th moon.
- Novice Warrior. 12-16 moons. These warriors are often still inexperienced and learn a lot through patrolling and having more independence as warriors.
- Young Warrior. 16-24 moons. These warriors are fairly adept and may lead patrols, train young cats, or take on other leadership roles within the Clan. They are still 1.5 to 2 years old and considered quite young.
- Warrior. 24-50 moons. Two to three year old cats, generally considered smart by novices and apprentices, though still not exactly "wise old cats" within the Clan.
- Senior Warrior. 50 moons+. These warriors are experienced and rather wise. The older the warrior, the more likely they may be considered by the leader for counsel in times of hard decisions. These cats have likely trained at least one apprentice and are looked up to by many of the younger cats.
- Elders. A cat may retire at their own pace unless otherwise required by physical injury or some other reason they could not perform their duties. After about 7 years, a warrior likely starts to get slow, achy in the mornings, and their performance goes downhill. By 8 or 9 years a warrior should be retired.

Living in the moors EarthClan sees many animals and flowers, but not many trees. Their names will reflect this. They are also likely to see livestock in this area. EarthClan cats tend to prefer names taken from animals over other types of prefixes.

Living near the loch, these cats frequently have water related names. They often also have names from birds of prey, trees, and flowers. Since their habitat is diverse, they have diverse names. WaterClan enjoys names relating to flowers, herbs or broad leaf trees.

FireClan lives in a forest that is mostly evergreen, though further south there are some broadleaf trees. They are unlikely to have names relating to birds of prey, fish, or livestock. Instead they have names often relating to trees or woodland animals. Not much grows on a coniferous forest floor so many flowers are also out. FireClan prefers cats to be named after coniferous trees or the names of legend such as Tiger, Lion, Leopard, etc.

BASIC GENETICS
Note: You don't need to follow this but for those that want to, it's here!
- Male kittens always obtain both colour genes from their mother.
- Female kittens take one colour gene from each parent. This is why tortoiseshells, which are a combination of black and red/brown, occur only in females (or males with XX chromosomes).
- Only the immediate parents determine the colour/pattern of a kitten. Grandparents do not factor in.
- A kitten's pattern can be inherited from either parent.
- A cat displaying a dominant colour (black, red, tortie, etc.) must have a parent which displays a dominant colour.
- A tabby must have at least one parent that is either a shaded or a tabby.
- All red cats will have some tabby markings, though they need not necessarily be visible.
- A cat with a white undercoat (smoke or shaded) must have a parent that has a white undercoat.
- A bi-colour must have a bi-colour parent.
- A white cat must have a white parent.
- Two longhair parents cannot produce a shorthair kitten, but two shorthairs may produce a longhairs.
