Words: "To the stars through adversity."
Associated Season: Leafbare
AirClan, the faithful cats from the mountains, are known for their peaceful and wise demeanour. These cats live in the freezing mountains of the territory, where in some places there is snow all year round. This hardy environment breeds cats who will avoid conflict as the cost is almost always too high. Being the closest to the stars physically, they also have a connection with their ancestors that is uniquely special.
Aside from their clancat roots AirClan also has a number of cats with wildcat heritage unlike the other clans. This is usually defined by a blunt ended rather than a pointed tail.
Beauty Standards
AirClan loves long haired, big, tall cats. They like darker markings; especially torties & tabbies. Small cats without markings at all are considered far less attractive. They very much prefer amber eyes, with other colours being equally boring.
Breeds generally considered attarctive in AirClan include
Maine Coon
Norwegian Forest Cat
Siberian cat
Asian Semi Long Hair
Fighting Style
AirClan are extremely good at utilising the environment around them. As they are often on the defensive and rarely attacking this suits them well; they know their territory and can lead attacking cats to dangerous areas. They are known to tire out opponents in a similar vein as Water cats but they are especially talented at this part, moving smoothly and reading the landscape. No clan can claim better footwork.

TerritoryAirClan live in northern mountains by the loch, a place often obscured by clouds and covered in snow drifts. This dangerous environment is far colder than any other territory, and there are frequent merciless winds blowing a gale. Further south in their land there are some evergeens, but the land here is perpetually boggy from the water flowing down from the mountains.
In this harsh landscape prey is scarce even in greenleaf, with a few mountain hares, birds, and voles the only available prey they could hope to tackle. |
Camp AirClan can claim one of the most secure camps in the loch territory, second only to WaterClan. They live in an cavern in the mountainside, a place which offers much needed protection from the frigid cold of the north. Inside there camp immediately facing the main entrance is a huge mural of many many paw prints going back generations, the mark of when an apprentice becomes a warrior.

AirClan can see the majority of EarthClans moors from their mountain tops, and though the border extends to the edge of the Moonpeak and the tip of the Cairn only a small part of it is patrolled and marked. The terrain here is difficult to traverse in leafbare due to an acute possibility of avalanches from the tall northern mountain.
|
The oft contested border with their southern neighbour, FireClan has been known to be a little too generous in how far north they place their markers. It is a dangerous place to be should clans run into each other due to this and is usually not a place AirClan warriors will take their apprentices until they have some battle training.
|
The name for the rocky slopes where AirClan warriors do most of their hunting. Their pads must be tough to endure the hard terrain and climbing on rocks, something which young apprentices often struggle with at first. Though this is perhaps their most dangerous land, it is home to many mice, rabbits and other things to eat, so most of their hunting is done here. In the event of an invasion AirClan cats know how to utilise the ground best against their opponents, who often end up falling to their deaths rather than being killed by a cat.
|
A boggy area that until recently belonged to FireClan. It was favoured by the AirClan cats because, unlike the rest of their territory, it is quite rich in plants for their medicine cats and a far less risky place to train apprentices than on the slopes. It was won only after a hard battle with the southern clan resulting in many casualties.
|
A place regularly passed on territory wide patrols, the stone overs a great place for cats working hard to rest. Especially in leafbare it is a great protector against bad weather and avalanches, and offers apprentices a place to train that is secluded and safe compared to the rest of AirClan's territory.
